Taste unique wines with the owners

Maipú Trip Overview

This is a learning experience. You will be constantly learning about the challenges of making good wine and how small wineries operate differently than the bigger ones.

We will discuss geography, topography, climate change, water management, consumer markets, history, economy, and all in light of the evolution of wine and wine making here in Argentina.

Depending on the time of the year, we will taste between 6 and 15 different wines straight from the tanks and guided by us the owners of the winery.

The idea is that you taste different varieties that are grown in Mendoza, including one that we are the only ones in the country to grow. Also, it is our objective that you leave our winery understanding that there are many faces for Malbec and like anywhere else in the world, depending where you grow the grapes and how you tend your vines you will get different flavor profiles on your wines.

Last but certainly not least, you will be able to buy wines at a huge discount once we are finished!

Upon arrival, we will go directly to the small vineyard surrounding our winery to spend a lot of time learning about grape growing and the challenges of doing so in a high mountain dessert like the one we live in. Afterwards, I will give you a brief tour of the facilities thoroughly explaining how our fruit processing and winemaking differs from other wineries. You will be able to see first hand our barrel room and the temperature controlled warehouse we use to store our bottled wines before going into the fermentation and conservation area of the winery where you will experience a unique and guided tasting provided by Cristian and/or myself, straight from the tanks!

During this process you will be able to clearly taste and learn the different aspects of Malbecs, and Cabernet Sauvignon, grown in different areas as well as getting a taste of a unique grape variety, almost extinct, that Cristian grows with his father Raymond Stanislas Allamand.

Should you choose to do so, we can finish the experience with a full tasting of finished bottled wines also guided and explained by one of us.
