Half Day Tour – Gold Coast Highlights

Brisbane Trip Overview

This tour takes you to the natural beauty and less touristy beaches that the locals visit. The beaches we will stop at for the longest period are at the southern tip of the Gold Coast. They are popular with surfers and swimmers alike on account of the fine white sand and exquisitely beautiful protected bays, views to the Gold Coast Glitter Strip in the north, and views to the green forested mountains of the Gold Coast Hinterland to the west.
Rainbow Bay, where we will stop for you to swim at, or explore while remaining dry, is not only a major viewing spot for dolphins, but also humpback whales on their migration to, and from Antarctica from April to November. During the migration period it is not uncommon to see whales breach and frolic close to shore, just from the ease of standing on the former site of the Jack Evans’ Porpoise Pool on Snapper Rocks.
We then head north on the Pacific Highway to visit other much loved and glittering beaches of the Gold Coast before returning home.

After pick-up we will travel to the Gold Coast along the most direct route, the Pacific Motorway. We will then exit the motorway and head to Coolangatta and Rainbow Bay, which are the most southern beaches of the Gold Coast, Queensland, located just short of the Tweed, bordering Queensland and New South Wales.
After free time to either swim (at your own responsibility) at the patrolled beach of Rainbow Bay, or walk at waters’ edge on the white sand of Greenmount and Coolangatta beaches, we then head north, stopping to explore the beautiful beaches of Burleigh Heads and Surfers Paradise in the heart of the Gold Coast.
Along the way, we will see many other beaches in between the major areas and will stop in accordance with guests requests and interests.
If guests’ interest and time allows, we may also stop briefly at a freshwater rockpool in a green valley for a quick saltwater rinse off. Another hidden gem of the Gold Coast.
