The itinerary has been carefully planned so that you will take in many different experiences while keeping the schedule at a comfortable and relaxed pace. The first part of this tour through farmland on route to Naracoorte Caves and the Coonawarra wine region is less visually spectacular and is therefore done at a faster pace to allow more time on the Great Ocean Road.

Day 1: Adelaide – Mount Gambier
Stop At: 266 Mount Lofty Summit Road Cleland, South Australia Australia
Mt Lofty Summit with sweeping views of Adelaide is the highest point in the Adelaide Hills.

Stop At: Hahndorf, Hahndorf, Adelaide Hills, Greater Adelaide, South Australia
Hahndorf is Australia’s oldest surviving German settlement and still has a strong German flavour most evident in the smallgoods outlets, bakeries, pubs, restaurants and cafes that line the bustling main street.

Stop At: Naracoorte Caves National Park, Limestone Coast, Naracoorte, South Australia Australia
You visit the Naracoorte Caves National Park for a cave tour with a local guide. These limestone caves have an abundance of Stalagmites and Stalactites and are World Heritage Listed Area due to the fossils of the ‘Mega Fauna’ found buried in the Caves

Stop At: Coonawarra, Coonawarra, South Australia
Coonawarra is the most important wine region within the Limestone Coast zone of South Australia, credited with producing some of the best red wines in the entire country, and often described as Australia’s most famous terroir. We stop here to enjoy a drop, or two, of their amazing wines

Day 2: Mount Gambier – Skenes Creek
Stop At: The Blue Lake, John Watson Drive, Mount Gambier, South Australia 5290 Australia
First up is a visit to one of the youngest volcanoes in Australia with a crater lake that changes colours twice a year!

Stop At: Port Fairy, Port Fairy, Victoria
This picturesque town was voted the most liveable town in the world in 2012!!

Stop At: Tower Hill, Tower Hill, Victoria
Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve sits in a large volcanic crater. It is one of Victoria’s most fascinating and significant geological formations. The first National Park in the state where we drive down into the crater and if lucky we may have the chance to see Koalas, Kangaroos and Emus

Stop At: London Bridge, Peterborough VIC 3270, Australia
After lunch it is time to start the world famous Great Ocean Road. The first breathtaking view will be at Bay of Islands. Bay of Martyrs and the famous London Bridge (where tourist were stuck after the bridge collapsed in 1990) are coming up shortly after

Stop At: Loch Ard Gorge, Great Ocean Road Port Campbell National Park, Victoria 3269 Australia
You then visit ‘Loch Ard Gorge’, the site of the most famous 19th century Australian shipwreck. We retell the entire story from the calm voyage, the tragic wreck, the courageous survivors and their ultimate fate. While hearing the tale you will be able to see and hold some original artefacts, photos and documents from the ‘Loch Ard’ contained in our treasure chests.

Stop At: Twelve Apostles, Victoria, Australia
The 12 Apostles are Icons of Australia’s natural beauty. We arrive as the stacks are lit with the morning sun making them perfect for photos and crowd free. This is a bonus for taking a 2-day trip as the stacks are silhouettes in the afternoon and overcrowded. After hearing of the creation of the stacks and holding some of the limestone rock you can explore the boardwalks or brave a helicopter flight along the coastline (own expense).

• Dinner: Award-winning Chris at Beacon Point, one of the best restaurant in the region who use great local produce. 2 courses.
Accommodation included: Your 4 star ocean view villa in natural bush setting is a great place to relax, unwind and even to spot a koala or two.
Day 3: Skenes Creek- Melbourne
Stop At: Mait’s Rest, 17km west of Apollo Bay, Apollo Bay, Victoria Australia
We take you on a 1km guided walk through a cool temperate rainforest gully to see the world’s tallest flowering plants, prehistoric trees and ferns and unique features such as ‘Yabbie Chimneys

Stop At: Great Ocean Road, Great Ocean Road, Victoria
We then turn towards Melbourne and travel along a very scenic section of the Great Ocean Road en route to Kennett River for a fantastic viewing of wild Koalas in their native setting. We also visit many scenic spots for photos and tell numerous stories behind the making of the road. We stop for lunch at the largest of the seaside villages, Lorne. This popular tourist town is full of restaurants and cafes and boasts great shopping and swimming beaches. After lunch we drive along the surf coast and take in the surf culture of the region with a visit to Torquay and Bells Beach.

Stop At: Geelong, Geelong, City of Greater Geelong, Victoria
Our journey then takes us through the historic gateway to the Great Ocean Road, Geelong. You can enjoy a walk along the re-designed waterfront before turning to Melbourne
