The Quilombo dos Palmares memorial park is located in Serra da Barriga, in União dos Palmares, in the state of Alagoas. In November 1985 Serra da Barriga was listed by the Institute of National Historical and Artistic Heritage (IPHAN). At the time of Quilombo dos Palmares, it was part of the Pernambuco Captaincy.
Quilombo is the name of an existing dance in Alagoas.
