Stop At: Corcovado – Christ the Redeemer, Estrada Redentor – Alto da Boa Vista Parque Nacional da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, State of Rio de Janeiro 22241-330 Brazil

The 2.5-mile railway was opened by Emperor Dom Pedro II of Brazil on 9 October 1884. Initially hauled by steam locomotives, the line was electrified in 1910, the first in Brazil. It was re-equipped in 1980 with trains built by Swiss Locomotive and Machine Works (SLM). Ride the Cosme Velho Station Cog Train through the dense and lush Tijuca Forest National Park (a green sanctuary comprising an area of 47 square miles) all the way to the summit of the Corcovado Hill and base of the Christ Statue, where you will be granted with the most beautiful views of the Marvelous City.

The Selarón Stairway is an architectural work located between the neighborhoods of Santa Teresa and Lapa, decorated by the Chilean artist Jorge Selarón, rooted in Brazil for a long time, with tiles from the four corners of the planet, donated by tourists visiting Rio. Selaron declared that his work is a tribute to the Brazilian people.

The Authentic and Bohemian Santa Teresa district, known as the artistic heart of Rio, was once home to the city’s rich and famous. When Copacabana was uninhabitable, back in the 19th century, the wealthy elite of Rio de Janeiro chose Santa Tereza hill due to its proximity to the city center, its magnificent views, and the fresher cooler air.

Santa Teresa’s cobbled streets are lined with old mansions (some are renovated) and today function as artists’ studios, art craft stores, restaurants, and guest houses. The visit will last approx. 50 minutes.

After Santa Tereza, the Tour will continue to one of the best and most upscale Barbecue Places in Brazil, FOGO DE CHÃO, All you can eat Authentic Brazilian Rodízio Style Barbecue, located in Botafogo with gorgeous views of the Guanabara Bay. Lunch is included, although Beverages and Desserts are not.

After Luch at Fogo de Chão, Tour will continue to the Sugar Loaf Mountain.
Ride the World-Famous Cable Cars in two steps, all the way to the summit of the Urca Hill, 215 meters high.

The Natural Monument is a complex of hills located in the Urca district. It comprises Sugarloaf Mountain and Urca Hill

Its main attraction is the cable car ride, connecting Praia Vermelha, Urca Hill, and Sugarloaf Hill. Known as the Sugarloaf Cable Car, which was conceived in 1908 and inaugurated in 1912, becoming the first cable car installed in the country and the third in the world. In these more than one hundred years of existence, it has transported more than forty million people.

The Sugarloaf Mountain and Urca Hill Natural Monument cover an area of 91.5 hectares. Among the attractions in the area, in addition to the cable car, are the Claudio Coutinho track for running or walking, the Urca Hill trails with views of Corcovado, Copacabana, Botafogo, and Guanabara Bay, and many climbing routes.

Copacabana is the most famous beach in South America, known for its crescent-shaped beach, Copacabana is one of the liveliest neighborhoods in Rio. It attracts residents and tourists for non-stop activities on its sands and on the designed promenade. Among the skyscrapers overlooking the beach is the Art Deco-style Copacabana Palace hotel and the lush Copacabana Fortress, which houses a military museum.

Last Stop – Ipanema (Arpoador) Beach

Ipanema Beach, the stretch of white sand on Rio’s coast between Arpoador and Leblon beaches, is considered the jewel in the city’s crown. The area surrounding it is one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in the city and is appropriately filled with upscale boutiques and restaurants. The beach itself is usually full of people, parading around in Brazil’s revealing designer swimwear, sipping from a coconut shell or a fresh fruit caipirinha (both available from beachside kiosks). Workout stations, volleyball courts, and soccer fields dot the landscape, each packed with Cariocas working on their physiques.

Made famous by the well-known bossa nova song, “The Girl from Ipanema,” this beach has drawn tourists since the 1960s. The 2-mile stretch of sand boasts gorgeous mountain views and cobalt waters.

Cariocas will tell you that Ipanema’s vibrant atmosphere is the place to see and be seen, so it’s tailor-made for people-watching.
