Kingston Trip Overview
Explore Kingston, the birthplace of reggae music. A truly Jamaican cultural story tour beginning at the famous Devon House with its rich history of centuries past, then on to the world-famous Bob Marley Museum tracing the ascension of reggae music and the Rastafarian who made that genre spread globally. Our next stop would be The National Gallery, archiving our famous artists depicting all the rich vibrant moods of the Jamaican art scene. The Bob Marley Museum the former home of our most notable musician, Bob Marley would be our final stop. The Bob Marley Museum is a piece of history that was preserved in time. The tour gives an authentic feel of what it was like growing up in Jamaica back in the 60s.

One of Jamaica’s most celebrated historic landmarks, the Devon House Mansion is the architectural dream of Jamaica’s first black millionaire, George Stiebel. Having gained his wealth from gold mining in South America, Stiebel was among three wealthy Jamaicans who constructed elaborate homes during the late 19th century at the corner of Trafalgar Road and Hope Road. This corner fittingly became known as the Millionaire’s Corner.

The Bob Marley Museum is a museum in Kingston, Jamaica, dedicated to the reggae musician Bob Marley. The museum is located at 56 Hope Road, Kingston 6, and is Bob Marley’s former place of residence.[citation needed] It was home to the Tuff Gong reggae record label which was founded by The Wailers in 1970. In 1976, it was the site of a failed assassination attempt on Bob Marley.
