Itinerary

Start with the morning transfer from Puerto Natales.

At the moment of entering the park through the Lago Sarmiento gate, you will begin the path with a side view of the imposing Sarmiento Lake, the usual hunting area for the region’s largest predator, the Puma. Species that finds here its main source of food, the Guanaco.

After an hour of walking, you’ll learn little more about the local history visiting a series of cave paintings with a date that exceeds 6,000 years old, frequented by one of the first populations that arrived in Patagonia. The activity continues in the direction to Laguna Blanquillos, nesting and feeding area of different species of endemic birds of Patagonia, always with a frontal view towards the Paine mountain range.

The path continues for about 2 hours untill you arrive at ‘Laguna Amarga’ entry (stop for restrooms). You will go by vehicle to the ‘Paine Waterfall’. Take your time to admire this place and to enjoy the box lunch with a frontal view towards the granite towers. Next up, at Cañadón Macho, is possible to observe large groups of guanacos that live with species such as the Ñandú, Gray Fox, Condor, among others.
