The tour begins with your hotel pick up and then around a 30-minute drive in a private vehicle to the starting point of the hike.
Your guide will lead you up a trail that takes you to “Manquehuito”, the secondary summit, in 30 minutes. From here you will have the first panoramic view of Santiago almost in its entirety, from the airport to the west to the ski centers to the east. Then you will continue on the main trail to the summit of Cerro Manquehue. This generally takes an hour depending on your pace. As you climb, the sun will begin to go down and the panorama will change. You will begin to have a different connection with nature as the heat of the day gives way to a pleasant cool breeze. Once at the summit, it is time to enjoy the sunset! Just sit back and gaze as the sun goes slowly down behind the Coastal Mountains to the west. You will also witness the most amazing changing of colors on the Andes Mountains to the east as the sunset reflects on them.
