Itinerary

Day 1: Beijing Airport Pick-up

Pass By: Beijing Capital International Airport, Shunyi District, Beijing, China
Once you arrive at Beijing Airport, your professional guide will be waiting for you at the arrival hall holding a sign with your name on it. The driver will take you to the hotel and assist you in the check-in process. For the rest of the time, you can have a good rest in your room or manage your own activities.

Day 2: Tiananmen, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, & Kung Fu Show

Stop At: Tiananmen Square (Tiananmen Guangchang), West Changan Street, Dongcheng District, Beijing 100006 China
This morning, your tour guide will pick up you at the hotel and take you to visit Tiananmen Square. You will see what the biggest urban city square in the world looks like.
Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Forbidden City-The Palace Museum, No.4 Jingshanqian Street, Dongcheng District, Beijing 100009 China
From Tiananmen Square, you will enter the Imperial Palace, also known as the Forbidden City to explore its fascinating halls and pavilions. Here, you will not only learn how the emperor handled political affairs and lived their lives, but appreciate numerous ancient art treasures.

At noon, an a la carte welcome lunch will be served at a superb local restaurant, where you can have a taste of authentic Chinese food and the most famous Peking Roast Duck.

In the afternoon, you will see the Temple of Heaven with its unique architectures, where the emperors worshiped the heavens in hopes of good harvests.

Day 3: China Great Wall Tour

Stop At: Mutianyu Great Wall, Mutianyu Village, Bohai Town, Huairou District, Beijing China
This morning you will be taken to Mutianyu Great Wall to experience at first hand the wonder of the Great Wall. The round-trip cable car will be arranged. Standing on the wall and looking at it stretching up and down into boundless distance is an exciting experience and will leave you a life-long memory. To celebrate and commemorate this moment, we specially provide red wine for a group-toasting on the Great Wall.

In the afternoon, drive you back to downtown and you will enjoy some free time to explore a popular local market.

Day 4: Summer Palace, Olympic Bird’s Nest, Beijing Hutong and Fly from Beijing to Xi’an

Stop At: Summer Palace (Yiheyuan), No.19 Xinjian Gongmen Road, Haidian District, Beijing 100080 China
The first stop of today’s itinerary is the Summer Palace – the largest existing imperial garden with a graceful landscape and magnificent constructions.

Pass By: Niaochao National Stadium, No.1 Guojia Tiyuchang South Road, Chaoyang District, Beijing China
Then drive by the Olympic National Stadium, also known as the Bird’s Nest. You will see its unique appearance and take nice photos at a distance.

Then a trip to the old Hutongs will conclude your memorable Beijing tour. Taking the local rickshaw and traveling along the narrow lanes, you will get a close touch with the original Beijing lifestyle and culture. You will also have a chance to try your hand at Chinese Paper Cutting.

Day 5: Terracotta Army, Local Family Visit, Ancient Pagoda & Tang Dynasty Dancing Show

Stop At: The Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses, Qinling North Road, Lintong District, Xi’an 710600 China
The visit to the magnificent Terracotta Army will start your day’s trip. In the museum, there are altogether three excavated pits exhibiting amazing warrior figures and Chinese ancient weapons.

At noon, you will have a chance to visit a local family and enjoy a big meal. What’s more, you can join in the process of cooking if interested.

In the afternoon, you will visit Xi’an Museum and then the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, which was built about 1,300 years ago in the Tang Dynasty to store the Buddhist scriptures brought from ancient India.

A splendid evening is in store when you will be entertained by the Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show while partaking in the famous Dumpling Dinner.

Day 6: Xi’an to Lhasa by Plane

In the morning, you will be escorted to the airport for your flight to Lhasa. On arrival, your Lhasa tour guide will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to familiarize yourself with the high altitude enviroment. You can take a stroll and have a good rest.

Day 7: Norbulingka Park, Sera Monastery, & View Potala Palace from Yaowang Hill

A morning visit takes you to the Norbulinka Park, which is the largest man-made garden with the most beautiful scenery and historical relics in Tibet.

Afterward, you will proceed to the Sera Monastery, where you will be amazed by its rich precious cultural relics and artworks, such as the dazzling Buddha statues and colorful frescos. If lucky, you could also watch the debate about the sutra of Buddhism among Lamas.

Day 8: Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, & Barkhor Street

Today’s first stop is Potala Palace, which was built 1,300 years ago. You will wonder at the splendor of its beautiful architecture that combines the styles of Tibetan temple and palace.
There are also some cultural observations that you should be aware of when you visit Potala Palace. You should avoid stepping on the door sill when entering. Taking photos is prohibited and it is not acceptable that women wear hats in the palace.

Then you will proceed to the 1370-year-old Jokhang Temple, the ultimate pilgrimage destination for Tibetan Pilgrims. You will get close to Tibetan Buddhism here and learn about the loyal believers.

Next, you will continue to the iconic Barkhor Street, where you will find the original look of Lhasa. Strolling on the stone road, you will enjoy the quaint ancient buildings and the delicate handicrafts.
Finally, you will head to a Nunnery to get close to the lifestyle of Buddhist nuns.

Day 9: Lhasa to Shanghai by Plane

Day 10: Shanghai City Tour

Stop At: Shanghai Museum (Shanghai Bowuguan), No.201 Renmin Avenue, Shanghai China
This morning, Your local tour guide will pick you up at your hotel. You will visit one of the four largest museums in China, the Shanghai Museum, which specializes in exhibiting artworks from ancient times.
Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Yu Garden (Yuyuan), No.218 Anren Street, Huangpu District, Shanghai 200010 China
After that, explore Yu Garden and its nearby traditional bazaar. The symbol of the Garden is the Nine Zigzag Bridge built of granite and grass-white jade and the quaint, elegant mid-lake pavilion.

Around noon, an a la carte farewell lunch will be served to you at a very nice restaurant.

In the afternoon, you will first discover the Former French Concession, a great place to learn the history and unique beauty of the city.

Take a one-hour cruise along the Huangpu River – the mother river of Shanghai. As the symbol and a microcosm of the city, the river has witnessed the glory, humiliation, despair, and prosperity of Shanghai.

Stop At: The Bund (Wai Tan), Zhongshan East 1st Road, Shanghai China
Have some free time in the Bund area. Upon returning to the hotel, your guide will see you into the lobby to say bon voyage.

Day 11: Leave Shanghai by yourself

Stop At: Pudong International Airport, Pudong International Airport, Shanghai
After breakfast at the hotel, please find your own way to the airport for your homeward flight. Your China tour package is wane to the close with wonderful memories.

You may reserve a taxi at the hotel reception beforehand to avoid having to wait for a taxi outside. The trip to Pudong Airport (PVG) will take about one hour and cost around CNY150. Ensure you have at least an hour and a half drive if your flight leaves from Hongqiao Airport (SHA). The cost of the taxi there is about CNY200. Please check carefully from which airport your flight will depart.
