Itinerary

Day 1: Pickup from Tianjin and transfer to Qinhuangdao, birding at Yansai Lake and Laolongtou

Stop At: Yansai Lake, Northwest of Shanhaiguan District, Shanhaiguan District, Qinhuangdao 066200 China
Start your day with an early morning pickup at Beijing downtown by your friendly driver and enjoy a 4-hour transfer service in a private air-conditioned vehicle to Qinhuangdao. First visit Yansai Lake which is located besides an ancient fort with clear and clean water just like a bright pearl in Mt. Yan, thus getting the name of “Yansai Lake”. Inside Yansai Lake has a Bird Sing Forest holding more than 2,000 kinds of birds, an Eden to appreciate the performance of birds. The best season to visit here is from May to October, the season for migratory birds to migrate.

Stop At: Laolongtou (Old Dragon’s Head), 93 Haikou Rd, Qinhuangdao 066206 China
Then continue to Laolongtou, known as the Old Dragon’s Head. In between, you can stop for a local lunch in your need. Laolongtou is the eastern starting point of the Great Wall built in the Ming Dynasty (1368 – 1644), and is also the only section on the sea. It is not only a good place to watch the sea, but also a good place to watch birds.There are gulls foraging for food all year round.

Stop At: Beidaihe District, Qinhuangdao, Hebei, China
After meeting your driver, transfer about 1 hour to your hotel in Beidaihe(at your own arrangement).

Day 2: Pigeon Nest Park and Beidaihe National Wetland Park, then transfer back to Beijing

Stop At: Pigeon Nest Park, Gechi Road, Beidaihe District, Qinhuangdao 066100 China
Your driver will pick you up at your hotel and transfer to the Pigeon Nest Park is a long-established bird watching resort in Qinhuangdao. It is also a must-go scenic spot of Beidaihe River. Watching the sunrise in Pigeon park is a can’t-miss activity for all visitors! If you are interested, you can go in early morning.

Stop At: Beidaihe District, Qinhuangdao, Hebei, China
After lunch, continue to Beidaihe National Wetland Park. Qinghuangdao is regarded as China’s capital of bird-watching and Beidaihe is one of the four famous birding spots in the world, with excellent natural conditions. Beidaihe National Wetland Park is known as a birding haven. Every year, a large number of migratory birds will stay here and inhabit. Both spring and autumn are best seasons for bird-watching in Beidaihe.
Your trip is finished with transfer back to your hotel in Beijing or Beidaihe.
