Your private guide and driver will meet you in the lobby of Beijing hotel and transfer you to Tiananmen Square. Tiananmen literally means Gate of Heavenly Peace,after a brief orientation of Tiananmen Square, the world’s largest city center square, you will stroll through the grand door and arrive at the Tiananmen gate, the entrance to the Forbidden City.

Your guide will assist you in bypassing the long queues of people waiting to enter this fabled city and very quickly, you will be inside. Your visit to the Forbidden City starts with a visit to the newly opened city wall at the north gate from where you can overlook the spectacular city. Your visit will also include not only all of the most visited buildings and chambers, but also a special visit to other private buildings such as the Treasury and the Instruments. Your guide will escort you slowly through this spectacular site explaining about its history and the different buildings you will see. The visit will last at least 3 hours.

After your lunch you continue to the famous Beijing Hutongs. The name Hutong comes from the Mongolian word for ‘well’ because historically people would build their homes close to or around a well. Nowadays Hutong means a lane way or alley. This is a fascinating area of Beijing with long lane ways of grey-tiled buildings and your visit will include walking through the narrow laneways where you can observe the different streets and alleyways and the local people going about their everyday lives. You will have an opportunity to pay a short visit to a Hutong family and learn calligraphy writing with house holder.
