What to Expect When Visiting Xi’an, Shaanxi, China

Day 1: Hotel Pickup & Terracotta Army, Small Goose Pagoda, Great Mosque, Muslim Street

Stop At: The Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses, Qinling North Road, Lintong District, Xi’an 710600 China
In the morning, your guide and driver will meet you at the lobby of your hotel. Then transfer you to visit the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum, the Eighth Wonder of the World. The lifelike warriors and horses were orderly arranged in battle formations, which were believed to be the guards of the first emperor Qin Shihuang’s Mausoleum. Lunch is arranged by yourself, but your guide is glad to offer you some advice.

Stop At: Small Goose Pagoda, No.72 Youyi Road, Beilin District, Xi’an 710068 China
In the afternoon, you will be driven back to downtown to visit the Small Wild Goose Pagoda & Xi’an Museum. You can learn about the history and culture of Xi’an

Stop At: Xi’an Mosque, Huajue Alley, Xincheng District, Xi’an 710043 China
Then drive to the Great Mosque which is considered to be a perfect combination of Islamic culture and traditional Chinese architecture.
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Muslim Quarter, West of Bell Drum Towers Square , Beilin District, Xi’an 710000 China
Later on, you will have some free time to explore the nearby famous Muslim bazaar where many delicious local snacks, unique and interesting souvenirs may arouse your interest. When the day tour is over, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Day 2: Xi’an City Wall, A Local Family Visit with Homecooked Lunch, Shaanxi History Museum

Stop At: Xi’an City Wall (Chengqiang), Zhongxin District, Xi’an 710001 China
Today you will first visit the City Wall Park. While you stroll around the park, you will see the locals doing morning exercises, like playing Tai Chi, singing and dancing.

Later your guide will take you to ascend the City Wall, another famous landmark of the city. Built in the Ming Dynasty (around 14th century), Xi’an City Wall is the best-preserved one in China. Standing on the City Wall, you can have a bird’s eye view of this ancient city. If time permits, you can either take a walk or have a short cycling on the wall to explore the history of the city from every brick and tile.

Then continue your trip to a local family home where a home-cooked a la carte lunch is prepared for you. You will have the chance to taste the authentic home-made Chinese foods and learn to cook Chinese dishes from the hostess.

In the afternoon, you will spend time at Shaanxi History Museum. There are more than 370,000 historical relics exhibited in the museum according to the time and themes, spanning from the prehistory to modern China. It is not exaggeration that you could trace the thousands of years’ Chinese history here in hours.

As the visit comes to the end, your guide and driver will transfer you back to your hotel.
