What to Expect When Visiting La Sa Shi, Xi Zang Zi Zhi Qu, China

Itinerary

Day 1: Arriving in Lhasa (3650 M)

Pass By: Lhasa Gongga Airport Parking Lot, 7WR2+2CX, Gonggar County, Shannan, Tibet, China, 850614
If you arrive in Lhasa by train or plane, your tour guide will welcome you and escort you to the hotel. On the way you may encounter the Yarlung Tsangpo Rivers / Bhamaputra Rivers (the longest and largest rivers in Tibet).

After your arrival in Lhasa you can rest well and adjust the high altitude. If you want to go out, you can drive to Potala Square and enjoy the mountain of different colors and get lots of beautiful photos of Potala.

Day 2: Discover Lhasa: Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Road

Today you will first visit the Potala Palace, which is the winter palace of the Dalailama. It has been used by the 33rd King of Tibet since the seventh century. The most valuable collection of Potala Palace is the gilded stupas of leader Dalai Lama and memorable cave of the 33rd King of Tibet.

After lunch, drive to Jokhang Temple, built by the 33rd King of Tibet in the 7th century. It is better for you to get acquainted with Tibetan culture and religion by visiting Jokhang Temple with a local guide. In it you can see the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni, from which you can see many pilgrims worship in front of the temple.

Day 3: Day trip to Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery

Stop At: Drepung Monastery (Zhebang Si), Southern Slope of Genpeiwuzi Mountain, Chengguan District, Lhasa 850000 China
In the morning you will visit Drepung Monastery, which is one of the “Great Three” Gelug Monasteries in Tibet. It was built in 1416 by Jamyang choge, one of Tsongkhapa’s disciples. You can visit the largest church within the monastery and know Buddhist Sculpture Carving Factory near Drepung.

In the afternoon you can visit a larger monastery or the monastery Sera, the other of the “Great Three” Gelug monastery in Tibet. Day 4: Lhasa – Gyantse – Shigatse

Stop At: Yamdrok Yumtso Lake, Langkazi Country, Nagarze County 851100 China
In the morning we drive from Lhasa to Shigatse. On the way you will drive through the Gampala Pass (4790m) and you will have an overview of Yamdrok – tso (4400m). Surrounded by snow capped mountains, this lake offers spectacular views of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar (7191m), the highest mountain near Lhasa.

Then we will drive through the Korola Glacier on the way. At Manak Dam Lake you can hang a flag at the Simila Mountain Pass. Then we will arrive in Gyantse, the traditional Tibet’s third largest city (after Lhasa and Shigatse). In Gyantse we will visit the most famous Pelkor Monastery and Gyantse Kumbum and enjoy the distant view of Gyangste Fortress.

Day 5: Shigatse (3900 M) to Everest Base Camp (5200 M)

Stop At: Tashilunpo Monastery, Jijilangka Road, Shigatse 857001 China
In the morning we will visit the house of Panchan Lama – Tashilunpo Monastery. Then we will go away with your permission Shigatse and drive to Lhatse, it is a town where you can have lunch.

Stop At: Mt. Everest Base Camp, kathmandu, Thamel, Tingri County 858200 China
Then we will drive through Tsola Pass (4600m) and Gyatsola Pass (5248m). After entering the Mt. Everest National Nature Reserve, you can visit the Himalayan panorama at the Gawula Pass (5198m). Along the New Zigzag way we drive to Everest Base Camp (5200m). You can stare closer to the Mt. Everest summit. If time and weather permits, you can see the sunrise from Golden Everest peaks at your location.

In the morning you can see the sunrise from Everest Summit, weather permitting at your location. Then we will visit the Rongbu Monastery, the only highest monastery where nuns and maids live together. Finally we will drive back to Shigatse.

Day 7: Shigatse to Lhasa

Today we will drive back to Lhasa along the Yalong Valley. You can stand on the observation deck and see the vast Yalong riverbed. The tour guide will bring you to the hotel in Lhasa.
