Kotor is surrounded by lofty mountains which peer over its Bay of Kotor, Europe’s southernmost fjord. As the Mediterranean’s only fjord, this bay was added to the list of the twenty five most beautiful bays in July 2000.

You will be picked from your hotel (or pick up point) in Dubrovnik and then enjoy the tour in a new Mercedes, air-conditioned minibus with an English/Spanish speaking guide. Once you arrive at the Croatian-Montenegro border, you will need to be sure you have your passport with you.

Once you cross the border, enjoy a panoramic drive around the Bay of Kotor. Boka Kotorska will fascinate you. It looks as if the mountains have cracked and let the sea in. This is the southernmost fjord in Europe. The bay is all natural. Admire its beautiful small towns as treasuries of history, art, and beauty, that are strung like pearls on its coastline.

Your next stop is Perast, the ancient village. It is rich in Venice-like architecture which includes sixteen Baroque palaces, seventeen Catholic churches, several important Orthodox structures, and a series of nine defensive towers. The highlights are twin islands of St George and Our Lady of the Rocks. Both are religious pilgrimage sites.This tour includes a boat ride to Our Lady of the Rocks, which was artificially created in the 15th century around a rock where an image of the Madonna was found. Every year on July 22, the locals row over with stones to continue the task.

You will arrive in Kotor around noon. Kotor is located in a dramatic and secluded Mediterranean Bay (at the head of southern Europe’s deepest fjord), and it is one of Montenegro’s most picturesque cities. For centuries, it has been a crossroads of commercial roads under the strong influence of Venice. It is protected by mountains with a strong defense structure built during the time of Byzantine Empire. You can start wandering through Stari Grad (Old Town) and exploring its cobbled lane ways and atmospheric squares.
