Itinerary
We welcome you at the atelier with (Turkish) coffee or tea and some homemade snacks. After a short introduction about clay, ceramics and our atelier, we start by making some basic, simple forms like birds, fish etc. Next, we try clay slab building techniques on a coffee/tea mug or any other object you would like to make. For relief decoration we use some traditional weaving patterns, or we walk around the atelier to collect plants, leaves and other forms or shapes to imprint on our works. If we have some time left, we will try working on the potters wheel. While working, we exchange our ideas and views of the ancient cultures and their art, of nature and our relation to it through our own creativity. The whole atmosphere is relaxed and timeless, giving us all the space we need to (re)discover our ancient relation with the creative being within ourselves. The works you make can be posted to your address after they are dried and (bisque) fired.
