Prepare to meet Venetian officer and his wife and we will enter to dark streets of late Medieval Sibenik.

Stop At: Town Hall Sibenik, Trg Republike Hrvatske, Sibenik 22000 Croatia

The Town hall or Great Loggia in Šibenik is situated on the medieval central town square (the Square of the Republic of Croatia), used to be Plathea communis. This is a very harmonious and transparent Renaissance building erected between 1533 and 1546. Our guide will stop near with Small Loggia with a Pillar of Shame to explain about the form of punishments at Medieval Sibenik.

The cemetery is a quiet place to stroll. Here you can look straight up at St. Michael’s Fortress and look outward to get panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea. Just before Saint Michael Fortress almost at the top of the hill we will stop in front of the entry of St. Anna cemetery where our costumed guide will tell you stories about the cemetery and some odd traditions from Medieval time.

St. Michael’s Fortress was built on a steep, rocky hill with the beautiful view to the numerous islands of the Šibenik archipelago and the medieval town. Our guide will stop in front on the main Medieval entry to the fortress and will describe who could enter to the oldest fortress at the city and who wasn’t welcome there.

Throughout turbulent history, it served as the main point of the city fortification system. Šibenik, the oldest autochthonous Croatian town on the Adriatic, was developed within its walls and first mentioned on Christmas Day of 1066 as the place where the Croatian King Petar Krešimir IV stayed.

Stop At: The Cathedral of St James in Sibenik, Trg Republike Hrvatske Sea Promenade, Sibenik 22000 Croatia

The Cathedral of St. James in Šibenik is one of the most significant and most beautiful architectural achievements in Croatia and was included on the UNESCO Cultural World Heritage List in 2000.
It was built in a stretch of more than a hundred years, during the 15th and 16th century, and is unique for it is entirely built of stone. Our guide will lead you to the Bishop’s Palace is right next to the Cathedral of St. James from the sea side. It is a mid-15th century building with the features of Gothic and Renaissance style, built on the site of the first Bishop’s palace from the end of the 13th century. Between the Bishop’s Palace and the Prince’s Palace there is one preserved city gate from the sea side, the so-called New Gate that got its final shape in 1570. In front of the New Gate our guide will tell you the story about one invitation process in Medieval Sibenik with witches and spells.
