Endless is the list of things people in Split are proud of. One of them is water.
The usual mantra is that city gets its running water from the aquaduct built by Diocletian, which is not completely true, but who cares. This aquaduct was renovated in 1860s, and yes, the route and the source of that water – river Jadro – is still the same like in Roman times. Still, water in Split is really good, much better than the bottled one.

Who ever owned this fortress in past, had Split town on his hand, and this is how it got the nickname The key of Dalmatia.
Fortress is the border between dalmatian hinterland and coastline,
and best, magical view on Split.

Just a few minutes from Klis fortress, there is a small factory of fine food boutique products with ethno village in which is stored the cultural and gastronomic heritage of Dalmatia.

Stella Croatica produces and offers the finest delicacies on this side of the Mediterranean; starting with the top-quality olive oils,
olive tapenades and finishing with the delicacies made with dried figs, almonds and oranges.
Even today, the complete range is manufactured in limited quantities. Most of the products are handmade.
The products are completely organic with no preservatives.

We will try some of those products, and have a snack prepared for us.
