Take a short drive over to the wonderful islet of Trogir. During our stroll we explore all the historic landmarks of the medieval city.
At its core is the grand Cathedral of St. Lawrence. Its portal, a masterpiece by the Dalmatian architect will leave you wonder struck. On our tour we also visit the vestry and the baptistery of the cathedral.
Along the way, the past centuries come alive with stories of exciting battles, mysterious characters, and the beautiful architecture that flourished under the Venetian rule.
After the exploration of Trogir and your break for lunch/snack we drive back to Split.

Vestibule or the hall of Diocletian’s apartments served as an integral part of the ceremonial access to the Emperor.

The cathedral in Split is accommodated in the former mausoleum of the emperor Diocletian, a monumental building from the 4th century. Built of massive stone blocks, the 24 m high mausoleum dominates the central area if the palace.

A ceremonial entrance court, framed on both sides by monumental arcades and oriented towards the imperial loggia. Admire the stunning colonnaded square, one of the most beautiful ones on the Mediterranean

Golden Gate, i.e. the northern gate is, the most prominent of all four gates of the palace. A little church of St. Martin was built into the very gate in the 5th century.

The statue is the work of one of the most famous Croatian sculptors -Ivan Mestrovic. The bronze statue depicts Grgur Ninski, the bishop from the beginning of the 10th century. Rub its toe for good luck!

A lovely square with stunning Venetian and Viennese architecture. Situated in front of the old Town Hall in the newer part of the town, outside the western wall of the Diocletian’s Palace, it has always attracted the visitors with its variety and vivacity.

One of the most picturesque squares just outside the palace of the Roman emperor Diocletian. Learn about Marko Marulić, the father of Croatian literature whose statue is in the middle of the square.

It is another beautiful promenade popular with both the locals and our visitors. Off the street is the fish market where we stop to have a look where the locals buy the fresh Adriatic fish.

Prokurative or as it is officially called, Republic Square resembles the Venice St. Marks Square. The square is located west of the Riva and was named after the arches found on the neo-Renaissance buildings surrounding the square on three sides. Most people to this day know it by that name. The square is only open on the south side, providing a beautiful view of the harbour and the Riva (waterfront).

Considered the most beautiful promenade in Croatia, it is a meeting point of both locals and our visitors. Here we start and end our tour.

Stop At: The St. Lawrence Cathedral and Bell Tower, Trg Ivana Pavla II, Trogir 21220 Croatia
The cathedral of St. Lawrence holds a special place among the historical monuments of Trogir. It is not only important as the church, but has an architectural value that exemplifies many building styles, from the Romanesque to Baroque. The western portal made by master Radovan, is a masterpiece of Romanesque sculpture and architecture. Inside the chapel of The Blesses John Ursini shows the exceptional work of the local masters that were present in Trogir during the period of Renaissance.

All the most important historical sites are here – the Town Loggia, the Communal Palace- today’s mayor office, the Church of Sebastian. Admire the Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance Architecture of the city whose history goes back to the 2nd century BC.
