Los Melones Trip Overview
Have you rented a car and have a smartphone with internet? Then come join us for a day full of fun! Drive yourself from Bavaro, Punta Cana or any other spot in the Dominican Republic to our meeting point right at the entrance of town. From there, we will take you to our slot on the beach so you can come aboard.
This option of our tour is designed for the free and adventurous. Once aboard we will go to Saona Island, with a stop at the natural pool to enjoy the warm, crystal clear waters, and spot a few starfish.
Our beach in Saona has the newest, best kept facilities in the island, with plenty of natural shade and loungers! Enjoy the included lunch, refreshments and drinks. Join the beach activities. Or just relax under a palm tree. You will be back to Bayahibe at around 4:30PM. After the tour; why not sit and relax and enjoy the sunset in any of the town’s bars and restaurants? (not included) Return to your hotel or Airbnb at your own pace.

Palmilla, also known as “The Natural Pool” will be one of our stops along the way. Enjoy the crystal clear and warm waters, and spot some starfish.

Stop At: Saona Island, Cotubanamá National Park Dominican Republic
After leaving Palmilla area, we will head to our Saona beach area.
On the way to the beach area, we will sail for about one hour more. Along the wat you can enjoy the beautiful scenery, take great photographs and spot birds, flying fish and and occasional dolphin.
Sitting on the tip of the Dominican Republic’s east coast, Saona Island is part of the Cotubanama National Park. Cotubanama, a Taino cacique, had this coasts as part of his fiefdom. Nowadays, Saona Island is a protected area with only 3% of it available for visitors. Its endless, white sand beaches with tall palm trees and zero hotel development, make it a paradisiac highlight of your visit to the Dominican Republic.
We should arrive to the beach area around 11:30. Lunch will be offered around 12:00 noon. After eating, you can participate in the activities, or relax on the beach. We will head back to the starting point at around 3:00 PM. with an estimated arrival time at Bayahibe beach around 4:30 to 4:45 PM
