What to Expect When Visiting Cairo, Cairo Governorate, Egypt

Itinerary

Day 1: Cairo Museum and Cairo Citadel

Stop At: Cairo Governorate, Cairo Governorate
Egyptian Museum:

Known commonly as the Egyptian Museum or Museum of Cairo, home to an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities. It has 120,000 items explore the Egyptian Museum to walk through the ancient Egyptian history which was built at 1901 and to see the Golden Mask of the King Tut Ankh Amun.

Stop At: Cairo Citadel, Salah Salem St, Cairo 11511 Egypt
Salah El Din Citadel:

We will head to the citadel which dated back for the 12 century A.D it was built by the greatest Arab warrior Salah El Din and you will visit one of the beautiful mosques in Egypt as we called it the Alabaster mosque then you will see from there the view of Cairo.

Duration: 1 hour

Day 2: Sakara, Memphis, and Dahshur

Stop At: Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids, Al Giza Desert, Saqqara 12919 Egypt
• At Saqqara, the oldest complete stone building complex known in history was built: Djoser’s step pyramid, built during the Third Dynasty. Another Egyptian kings built pyramids at Saqqara, which are now in various states of preservation or dilapidation. High officials added private funeral monuments to this necropolis during the entire Pharaonic Period.

Stop At: Memphis and Sakkara, Saqqara 12919 Egypt
• The city of Memphis is 20 km (12 mi) south of Cairo on the west bank of the Nile The modern cities and towns of Mitrahina,south of Cairo, all lie within the administrative borders of historical Memphis. The city was also the place that marked the boundary between Upper and Lower Egypt. (The 22nd name of Upper Egypt and 1st name of Lower Egypt).

Stop At: Pyramids of Dahshour, Giza Egypt
• In Dahshur we will see The first of the Dahshur pyramids was the Bent Pyramid (2613 – 2589 BC), built under the rule of king Senefru The Bent Pyramid was the first attempt at building a smooth-sided pyramid, but proved to be an unsuccessful build due to the miscalculations made on the structural weight that was being placed onto the soft ground (sand, gravel, and clay) which had a tendency to subside. Other calculations that were proven to be erroneous were that the blocks being used were cut in such a manner that when placed onto the pyramid their weight was not distributed.
• Then we will move to the second pyramid of Dahshur, the Red Pyramid Once completed, the pyramid was considered to be a success, as it was a fully constructed, smooth sided, and a free-standing pyramid rising to a height of 341 feet (104 meters), with an angle of 43 degrees.
