Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up + Aswan Guided Day tour

Pass By: Aswan, Aswan, Aswan Governorate, Nile River Valley
Start your adventure by being picked up from your hotel in Aswan or  Aswan airport, bus or train station.

Stop At: Aswan High Dam, Manteqet As Sad Al Aali, Aswan Egypt
Start your day tour in Aswan by getting picked up from your hotel or cruise ship and drive to the High Dam of Aswan, an engineering miracle when it was built in the 1960s. From the top of the High Dam you can gaze across Lake Nasser to the Kalabsha temple in the south and the huge power station to the north.

Stop At: Unfinished Obelisk, Sheyakhah Oula, Aswan Egypt
Continue to the Unfinished Obelisk in the granite quarries of Aswan, where much of the red granite used for ancient temples and colossi came from. The Unfinished Obelisk still lies where it was carved when a crack was discovered as it was being hewn from the rock. Your qualified Egyptologist guide will explain how the 1 ton obelisk was carved, and why the crack caused it to be

Stop At: Temple of Philae, Island of Agilika, Aswan Egypt
The last of the 3 famous Aswan sites you will see is generally regarded as the best. Philae Temple was carefully moved to its current location (around 500 meters from the original site) when the construction of the High Dam caused surrounding Nile waters to rise. A short motorboat ride takes you to the island, where your guide will take you on a walking tour through the temple before allowing you free time to explore further on your own.

Dedicated to the goddess Isis, Philae Temple has a beautiful setting on an island in the river which has been landscaped to match its original site.

Day 2: Abu simbel Guided Tour & Train from Aswan to Luxor

Stop At: Abu Simbel Temple Complex, Abu Simbel, Abu Simbel Egypt
In the early morning start your tour to visit Abu Simbel Temple – a stunning Ancient Egyptian monument built by Ramses II out of a sandstone rock cliff. Marvel at the representation of the deities carved on the temple’s huge façade. Nearby, also visit the small Temple of the King’s wife Nefertari, dedicated to the goddess Hath-or.

Get a comfortable transfer back to Aswan

Later , transfer to Aswan train station to take the train from Aswan to Luxor .

Day 3: Luxor East and West Banks Guided tour

Stop At: Valley of the Kings, Luxor City, Luxor 85511 Egypt
Start the day with a visit to the West Bank to visit the Valley of the Kings which holds 66 tombs of various dynasties
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari, Kings Valley Rd Deir el-Bahari, Luxor 23512 Egypt
Continue to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and learn about the only female ruler of Ancient Egypt.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Colossi of Memnon, Thebes, Luxor Egypt
On the return journey, stop at the Colossi of Memnon – 2 gigantic sitting statues representing Amenophis III facing the Nile.
Duration: 40 minutes

Stop At: Temple of Karnak, Karnak, Luxor Egypt
Continue to Karnak Temple – a series of temples built within different reigns.
Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Luxor Temple, Luxor 23512 Egypt
After this, head over to the East Bank to see the Luxor Temple. Stroll through the courtyard and admire the granite statues of Ramses the Great.
