built in 15th-17th cc. at the Aragvi River, was a castle and seat of the eristavis (dukes) of Aragvi, a feudal dynasty which ruled the area from the 13th century. The castle was the scene of numerous battles.

at 2200 m, built in the 14th century. It was used to keep Georgian kingdom’s treasure during danger. An amazing view of Mount Kazbegi (5000 m) and Stepantsminda village is spread from the church yard.
