Shaori Reservoir is covered with mixed deciduous trees beautiful in all seasons of the year. However in autumn and spring it is a spectacular sight with various colours of the trees reflected in the lake. Shaori is known for its healing properties with cold winters and cool summers (1100-1200 metres above sea level).

Nikortsminda Cathedral was built in 1010–1014 during the reign of Bagrat III of Georgia and was repaired in 1534 by the King Bagrat III of Imereti. Three-storied bell-tower next to the cathedral was built in the 19th century. It is on the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nikortsminda has the Georgian cross-dome style of architecture with a massive dome and twelve windows decorated with ornamented architraves. Interior is decorated with frescoes from the 17th century and the rich ornaments, reflecting the mastery of the late-Medieval Georgian ecclesiastic art.

Sakinule Cave is a natural cave where the temperature is zero degrees at any time of the year and the water droplets from the rock turn to ice as soon as they fall to the ground. Ice stalactites and stalagmites can be found in the cave (1200 meters above sea level). You will need to hike 20 minutes to reach the the cave (difficulty level: easy).

Ambrolauri is administration center of the Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region. According to the 2014 census, the city had a population of 2,047. Ambrolauri is first recorded in the 17th century as a place, where one of the palaces of the kings of Imereti was located. It acquired the city status in 1966 and became a self-governing city with its own municipal government in 2014. The name of the city may have been derived from the surname Amarolisdze, while the settlement could have earlier been known as Metekhara. Ambrolauri has museum of fine arts established in 1965 open every day except Monday.

Barakoni Church of the Mother of God was built in 1753 by architect Avtandil Shulavreli by the local lord (eristavi) Rostom of Racha (1750-1769), commemorated in the inscription of the eastern façade. It is a domed cruciform church and one of the last important monuments of medieval Georgian architecture. The church was built of neatly trimmed stable stand stones and adorned with rich ornamentation. The church was closed under the Bolshevik rule. It suffered further damage during the earthquake in the 1991, but was quickly repaired.

Khvanchkara is the micro-zone in Racha where a naturally semi-sweet red wine Khvanchkara is made characterized by a dark red color; harmonious taste; velvety, pleasant flavor; fruit tones and varietal aroma. Khvanchkara is considered as one of the best Georgian wines. It is made from Aleksandreuli and Mujuretuli grape varieties. The vineyards are located at 450-750 meters above sea level on the right bank of the river Rioni.
