Stop At: Gori, Gori, Shida Kartli Region
Gori is a small town, which is famous for the fact that world famous Soviet leader Joseph Stalin was born here. It is possible to visit the museum of Stalin.

Stop At: Uplistsikhe Street, Uplistsikhe St, Gori, Georgia
Continue to the west to see Uphlistsikhe.
According to the historical sources Uphlistsikhe was main town-fortification of ancient east-Georgian kingdom Iberia. Unfortunately main part of it is ruined either of earthquakes or enemy invasions. Only we can see there, are remains of old glory.
At the top of the complex is a Christian stone basilica, dating from the 10th century. The rock-cut structures include a large hall, called Tamaris Darbazi, pagan places of sacrifice, dwellings, as well as functional buildings, like a pharmacy, a bakery, a prison, and even an amphitheater. The rock-cut structures are connected by tunnels, while other tunnels had the purpose of an emergency escape route.
