Stop At: Rustaveli M/S, Kostava Str., T’bilisi, Georgia

Day 1:
At 09:00, our guide and driver will meet you at the pickup place in Tbilisi to begin our tour to the southern region of Georgia. During the tour, we will visit Paravani Lake, Khertvisi fortress, Vardzia rock-carved fortress, Rabati castle, Borjomi national park, and city of Mtskheta.

Stop At: Paravani Lake, Ninotsminda Georgia

Our first destination is Paravani Lake, located 2 hours and a half from Tbilisi. At 11:30, we will reach this amazing place. Paravani is the largest lake in Georgia located at an altitude of 2070 meters above the sea level. The surface of the lake is 37.5 km², and the maximum depth, despite its enormous size, is only 3,5 meters. Various secrets and legends are connected with the lake Paravani. For the first time, the secret of the lake was unveiled by divers, who discovered some huge structures at the bottom. . At 12:30, we will leave Paravani Lake.

Stop At: Khertvisi Fortress, Vil. Khertvisi, Aspindza 0500 Georgia

At 13:45, we will reach the ancient Khertvisi fortress, which perfectly matches with nature: surrounded by mighty mountains, the strong walls of it look even more powerful. The date of the construction of the fortress in different sources is indicated in different ways. The first mention of it was back in the time of the Great Silk Road. The castle is located on the top of the mountain and at one time was difficult to access. That’s why Khertvisi is kept in good condition. In 2007, the fortress of Khertvisi was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. We will have one hour to explore this unique place. At 14:45, we will leave Khertvisi fortress and head to Vardzia.

Stop At: Vardzia, Erusheti Mountain, Aspindza 383770 Georgia

At 15:30, we will reach our next destination, Georgia’s unique ancient cave city of Vardzia, which is carved in a rock. The highest cave is located as high as 1462 meters above sea level. Vardzia fortress is arranged as storeys, on a level of 100 meters, number of storeys 3 – 13, it includes more than 600 storage facilities, refectories, shacks, pantries, backup storages, 25 wine cellars, with 185 wine-jars in total. The complex was mostly constructed during 1156-1203 years. Vardzia, Georgia’s unique cave city continues to amaze people from all over the world. This cave town is a monument of Georgian history culture and leligious. It should be mentioned that the site is included in the UNESCO world culture heritage list as one of the unique rock-hewn towns. We will have 2 hours to explore this unique place and after this, at 17:30 we will leave Vardzia and head to the city of Borjomi.

On our way to the city of Borjomi, at 18:30 we will stop in Axaltsikhe for lunch. We will have one hour to taste Georgian traditional cuisine.

At 19:30, we will reach Borjomi. One of the famous cities in Georgia.

Day 2

At 09:00, our guide and driver will meet you at the pickup place in Borjomi to begin our tour.
The city of Borjomi is famous for its mineral spring water “Borjomi”, which is sold in over 30 countries worldwide. However, apart from the famous mineral water, there are too many other reasons to visit Borjomi. The mineral water park is a very popular attraction for tourists who visit Borjomi. This is the place where the “famous” mineral water was first produced. While there, you can bring your own bottles and fill them up with mineral water, which is known to be good for health. Children are also bound to have a good time since the park also offers a variety of attractions and amusements for them to enjoy. Here you can relax and enjoy a beautiful environment. You can try riding the cable car up to the Ferris wheel at the top of the park! We will have two hours to discover this amazing place. At 11:00, we will leave Borjomi.

Stop At: Rabati Castle, Akhaltsikhe Georgia

Our next destination is Rabati castle, which we will reach at 12:00. Rabati Castle is located in the town of Akhaltsikhe. The Arabic word “Rabat” is translated as a fortified place. The fortress was built on a high hill and is visible from any point of the city. Rabati Castle was built in the XIII century and had seen many invasions and destructions. In 2012, it was reconstructed and strengthened. Rabati Castle has a powerful fortress wall, four towers with spiral staircases, an observation deck, and buildings. The fortress occupies about 7 hectares and is divided into two parts – modern and historical. In the modern part, there is a restaurant, a hotel, cafes, and shops. In the old part of the fortress, there is the Ahmediyeh Mosque, the church, the family castle of Jakeli and the historical museum. A tour is a good idea to bring things alive. We will have one hour and a half to explore this amazing place. At 13:30, we will leave the territory of Rabaty castle.

Stop At: Borjomi, Borjomi, Samtskhe-Javakheti Region

At 14:30, we will stop on our back way, in the city of Borjomi for lunch. We will have one hour and after this, we will head to our next destination.

Stop At: Mtskheta, Mtskheta, Mtskheta-Mtianeti Region

On the way back to Tbilisi, at 16:30, we will visit Mtskheta, the ancient capital of the Eastern Georgian Kingdom from the Third Century BCE to Fifth Century CE. Mtskheta is a city with historical and ancient sights, where you can discover Georgian unique history.
In Mtskheta, you will visit Svetitskhoveli temple, the religious center for all Christians for many centuries. Further proving its importance to Christianity, there is a legend that a seamless robe of Jesus Christ is buried within the temple. The temple is on another UNESCO World Heritage listing because of its glorious architecture. From Mtskheta, you can see a 6th Century Monastery of the Cross on a mountaintop with a great view of the meeting between the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers as well as the entire city of Mtskheta. Jvari Monastery is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, along with other historic structures in Mtskheta. We will have one hour and a half to explore the amazing sights of Mtskheta.
