Stop At: Ananuri Fortified Castle Ensemble, Georgian Military Highway Near Zhinvali Reservoir, Ananuri 1803 Georgia
We’ll pass by the Jinvali water reservoir and stop at the Ananuri Castle ensemble, a 13th-century fortress that played a significant role in the country’s history. You’ll be able to walk on the very walls and discover smaller, less frequently visited sections of it.

The Russia-Georgia Friendship monument will be our next stop. If you like all things Soviet, you will appreciate all the elaborate mosaics work. The structure stands on the edge of a high cliff, offering a spacious vista view of the mountain valley sandwiched between rugged peaks.

Stop At: Gergeti Trinity Church, Near the Village of Gergeti, Stepantsminda Georgia
inally, we’ll reach Stepantsminda, a village where Mount Kazbegi is easily seen. In order to get even closer, we’ll need to use local transportation services, which should cost around 10 GEL per person, but we promise it’s a good investment, especially if the weather is cloudless. The Gergeti Trinity Church, our hilltop destination, is a picturesque spot offering breathtaking views of both the snowy peak and its green surroundings.
