Arne Jacobsen’s award-winning Mainz Rathaus (City Hall) – which is currently under renovation – is the starting point for this tour of modern Mainz.

Stop At: Fastnachtsbrunnen, Schillerplatz, 55116 Mainz, Rhineland-Palatinate Germany
The old part of the city has many modern fountains on picturesque public squares culminating in the impressive Fastnachtsbrunnen (Carnival Fountain) with more than 200 carnival figures. We will walk past modern sculptures and see Massimiliano Fuksas’ modern building replacing the core of the old market houses.
