We will head to Syntagma’s main square, where we will stop and watch the changing of the Presidential guard, in front of the Greek Parliament. You will see the Evzones with their great traditional costumes and your private tour guide will explain you all about the meaning of each part of their costumes.

The National Library of Greece is situated near the center of city of Athens. It was designed by the Danish architect Theophil Freiherr von Hansen, as part of his famous Trilogy of neo-classical buildings including the Academy of Athens and the original building of the Athens University. It was founded by Ioannis Kapodistrias.

The University of Athens was founded on 3 May 1837, by King Otto of Greece and was named in his honour Othonian University. It was the first university in the liberated Greek state and in the surrounding area of Southeast Europe as well.

Stop At: Mount Lycabettus, Athens Greece

Mount Lycabettus also known as Lycabettos, is a Cretaceous limestone hill in the Greek capital Athens. At 277 meters (908 feet) above sea level, its summit is the highest point in Central Athens and pine trees cover its base. The name also refers to the residential neighbourhood immediately below the east of the hill.

The hill is a tourist destination and can be ascended by the Lycabettus Funicular, a funicular railway which climbs the hill from a lower terminus at Kolonaki (The railway station can be found at Aristippou street). At its two peaks are the 19th century Chapel of St. George, a theatre, and a restaurant.
At Lycabettus hill, you will encounter a breathtaking panoramic view of the city.

We will continue our tour at the Panathenaic Stadium, where the modern Olympic Games started in 1896. Also called “Kallimarmaro” stadium, is one of the highlights of Athens where the classic Marathon ends & the only stadium in the world built entirely of marble.
