Hiking in Astypalea – “The path of” Drakospilia “

Astipalea Trip Overview

Drakospilia is a great cave with stalactites and stalagmites. The cave is next to the sea with the waters inside creating a lake. Previous archaeological investigations and reports by Ross (1842) about hot and cold waters in the cave attest that this site was a Nymphaeum in antiquity.

“Xopetro” in Flouda is the cape that inspired Odysseus Elytis for his poetic collection “The Elephants of Exopetra.” It’s the outside stone. The most advanced place on earth in the sea, but at the same time in another era, and my life in death. “

The area “Vathi” is the most isolated settlement of the island with only six inhabitants. It’s a journey through time and the 1930s. This is where we will appreciate the utter quietness and immaculate environment of the lagoon.
