This tour is a great way to delve into local history! The fortresses of Corfu are amongst the most important in Europe. Built in the 16th century, their walls were just impregnable. The Old Town was surrounded by walls with four gates, of which only two survive.
Follow your expert guide who will show you around both fortresses and will present to you the various phases of the defense works. You will walk along the coast to reach the preserved gates and the spots that were demolished along with two of the gates. It’s a great journey through the centuries!
The best part is when reaching a couple of panoramic spots from where you will enjoy the extraordinary view. It’s well-worth the climb, so don’t miss it.
