What to Expect When Visiting Kochi (Cochin), Kerala, India

We will explore most of the main destinations of Kerala including Kochi, Thekkady and Kumarakom.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Cochin + Half Day Sightseeing Cochin
Stop At: Kochi (Cochin), Kochi (Cochin), Ernakulam District, Kerala
Upon arrival at Cochin International Airport or if a guest is staying at any other hotel within Cochin city, They will be received by our representative and chauffer and then we will transfer them to our pre-booked hotel
Kochi is situated on the southwest coast of the Indian peninsula in the breathtakingly scenic and prosperous state of Kerala, God’s Own Country. Stroll along the beach, especially at sunset with the Chinese fishing nets and sailing ships in the background, is a memorable experience.
Later we will proceed for the half-day city tour of Kochi visiting: Jewish Synagogue (closed on Fridays and Saturdays),
Dutch Palace (closed on Friday)
Chinese Fishing nets.

Day 2: Kochi – Thekkady (155 Kms Approx / 4.5 Hrs)
Pass By: Thekkady, Thekkady, Idukki District, Kerala
After breakfast at the hotel and drive to Thekkady (approx. 4.5 hours) and check in to the hotel in Thekkady.
It is the most popular wildlife sanctuary in southern India, covering a large area of 777 sq. Kms. The sanctuary was made a part of Project Tiger in 1973, but it is better known for the elephants. In the afternoon, proceed for a plantation tour of the Spice Village property offered by the hotel. Enjoy the remaining day at leisure.

Day 3: Thekkady – Kumarakom (122 Kms Approx / 03 Hrs 30 Mins)
Stop At: Periyar National Park, Banks Of Artificial Periyar Lake, Thekkady India
After your breakfast at the hotel, your guide will pick you at the designated time for a boat ride on Lake Periyar, a man-made lake. See the wildlife on the banks of the lake between the shore and the forest edge and spot birds.
Later on, drive to Kumarakom (approx. 5 hrs) and on arrival, we will take you to check in to the hotel.

Boat Ride
Duration: 1 hour

Day 4: Kumarakom
Stop At: Kumarakom, Kumarakom, Kottayam District, Kerala
Kumarakom is a serenely beautiful and scenic backwater destination and also a charming peninsula jutting into the Vembanad Lake.
There is an old rubber plantation around the lake that has been developed into a bird sanctuary. A path goes through the swamp to the main nesting area while the island in the middle of the lake can be reached by boat.

Day 5: Kumarakom – Kochi (77 Kms Approx / 02 Hrs) + Depart Kochi

After breakfast, we will travel back to Kochi (approx. 1.2 hours) and drop you off at your hotel in Kochi or Cochin International Airport for your onward flight.
