Stop At: Dhobi Ghat, Dr. E. Moses Rd. near Mahalakshmi Station, Mumbai India

Welcome to the world’s largest open air laundromat. The bustle and color of this place in the morning (washing) hours is a one-of-its-kind experience. Completed in 1890 Dhobi Ghat has more than 490 open-to-sky concrete wash pens where washers, known as dhobis wash clothes and linen collected from a 30 kilometer radius.

Pass By: Marine Drive, Chaupati, Mumbai 400021 India

Mumbai’s iconic Marine Drive is a 3.6 kilometer boulevard by the sea with a promenade and a beach.
It is also home to Wilson College, which you would drive past. Wilson college is one of India’s oldest colleges and the current building was constructed in 1889 in the Victorian Gothic style by architect John Adams

Since 1890, an army of 5,000 typically dressed Dabba walas (meal box suppliers) in a traditional Gandhi cap, help fulfil the hunger of almost 200,000 office goers in Mumbai. Largely from the Varkari community with an illiterate background, they have devised a sorting and delivery mechanism that has achieved Six Sigma Certification.

Take a walk with our guide into a bygone era at the Afghan Church, Built in 1858 in Gothic Revival architecture, to commemorate the dead of the First Afghan War, this church still holds its stained glass windows built by experts of the time.

No wonder then that The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall British attended a Remembrance Sunday service here in November 2013

This early 20th Century monument is easily Mumbai’s most popular tourist attraction.
Built in the Indo-Saracenic style, this monument incorporates elements of 16th century Gujarati (a state in Western India) architecture, which in-turn borrow from Hindu and Muslim carvings. It was built to commemorate the landing of the first British monarch in India; King-Emperor George V and Queen-Empress Mary’s arrival at Apollo Bunder, Mumbai (then Bombay) in December 1911.

Pass By: Kala Ghoda Art Precinct, Mahatma Gandhi Road, Mumbai 400001 India

Kala Ghoda is Mumbai’s art precinct. It has many of the city’s heritage buildings, and is full of museums, art galleries and educational institutions

Stop At: Rajabai Clock Tower, Bombay University, Mumbai 400001 India

The Rajabai clock tower, which is built just like the BIG BEN in London was completed in November 1878 and is within the Head Office complex of the University of Mumbai.

This and the adjacent Mumbai High Court are two of The Victorian Gothic and Art Deco Ensembles of Mumbai, a collection of 19th century Victorian Neo Gothic and 20th Century Art Deco buildings

The Oval maidan, a 22 acre ground across the street from these two iconic buildings is where young cricketers practice and are prospected for the Indian Cricket team.

Stop At: Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, DN Road Mumbai CST Area, Mumbai 400001 India

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, previously known as the Victoria Terminus is a UNESCO world heritage site. This building houses the Headquarters of India’s Central Railway.

Allow your guide to take you on a walk into the reservation office and also take a look at the train stations witnessing the pace of the city

Stop At: Crawford Market, Mohammed Ali Road, Mumbai 400001 India

Crawford market, the first building to be lit up with electricity in the entire country. It gets its name after the first municipal commissioner of Mumbai, Arthur Crawford. Completed in 1869, this building is also a part of The Victorian Gothic and Art Deco Ensembles of Mumbai.

Soak in the bustle of one of Mumbai’s largest Bazaars complexes selling spices, fruit and much more.
