What to Expect When Visiting Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

Stop At: Shree Siddhivinayak, S.K.Bole Marg, Mumbai 400028 India

You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning and driven to the Flower Market of the city. Watch the sellers as they unload crates of colorful flowers from the vans and set up their stalls. The bright red, orange, pink and many other hues are just some of the flowers that will make their way to the temples as part of the offerings to the Almighty.

After the Flower Market, drive down to Siddhivinayak Temple that is dedicated to the Elephant God, Ganesha. It was originally built in 1801 and since then has seen several renovations. It is one of the richest temples in India and is visited by Bollywood stars and the rich and famous of Mumbai.

Stop At: Mahalaxmi, Mahalaxmi, Mumbai, Maharashtra

Next visit the Mahalaxmi temple. Built in 1831, the temple is dedicated to 3 incarnations of the Hindu Goddess Adi Shakti – Mahakali, Mahalaxmi and Mahasaraswati.

Stop At: Babulnath Temple, 16, Babulnath Rd., Charni Road, Mumbai 400004 India

Your next stop will be the Babulnath Temple that dates back to the 12th century. The temple is dedicated to God Shiva.

Stop At: Bombay Panjrapole, Panjarapole Rd Gulal Wadi, Bhuleshwar, Mumbai 400002 India

The last stop for the day is Bombay Panjrapole, a 176 year old shelter for homeless cows, goats, hens, donkeys and other animals.

At the end of the tour, enjoy breakfast (own expense) at a local restaurant.

After breakfast you will be driven back to your hotel.

The last temple on the itinerary is the more recent ISKCON temple that is associated with the Hare Krishna movement. This temple is filled with thousands of devotees on festivals.
