Nahargarh Fort stands on the edge of the Aravali Hills , overlooking the city of Jaipur in Rajasthan. Along with Amer Fort and Jaigarh Fort, Nahargarh once formed a strong defense ring for the city. The fort was originally named Sudarshangarh, but it became known as Nahargarh, which means ‘abode of tiger ‘. The popular belief is that Nahar here stands for Nahar Singh Bhomia, whose spirit haunted the place and obstructed construction of the fort. Nahar’s spirit was pacified by building a temple in his memory within the fort, which thus became known by his name.

Jaigarh Fort is situated at Aravalli Hills and gives you a glimpse of Amber fort and Maota lake in Jaipur. The fort was built by Jai Singh II in 1726 to protect the Amber Fort and its palace complex and was named after him. Fort is 10 kilometers away from Jaipur City.The fort’s main attraction ia a cannon named “Jaivana”, which was manufactured in the fort premises and was then the world’s largest cannon on wheels.The palace complex having Laxmi Vilas, Lalit Mandir, Vilas Mandir and Aram Mandir located in the premises of Jaigarh Fort, an armoury and a museum is also available in the fort. Jaigarh Fort and Amber Fort are connected by small passage and considered as one complex. By this passage you can can go to Amber fort easily. Few Hindi films also shot in the premises. The fort is highly fortified with thick walls of red sandstone and is spread over a layout plan with a length of approx 3 kilometers

Amer Fort is a fort located in Amer Jaipur and it is a backdrop of Jaipur, The town of Amer was originally built by Meenas and later it was ruled by Raja Man Singh 1 . Amer Fort is known for its artistic style elements. With its large ramparts and series of gates and cobbled paths, the fort overlooks Maot Lake, which is the main source of water for the Amer Palace.
Mughal Architecture greatly influenced the architectural style of several buildings of the fort. Constructed of red sandstone and marble, the attractive, opulent palace is laid out on four levels, each with a courtyard. It consists of the Diwan-e-Aam, or “Hall of Public Audience”, the Diwan-e-Khas, or “Hall of Private Audience”, the Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace), or Jai Mandir, and the Sukh Niwas where a cool climate is artificially created by winds that blow over a water cascade within the palace. Hence, the Amer Fort is also popularly known as the Amer Palace. The palace was the residence of the Royal Families . At the entrance to the palace near the fort’s Ganesh Gate, there is a temple dedicated to Shila Devi. Amer Fort, along with five other forts of Rajasthan, was declared a Unesco World Heritage Site.
