Itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel in Jaipur in an air conditioned vehicle and driven to Sanganer, a small town just outside the city. Upon arrival, you will visit the Sakshi factory where you will see how the traditional blue pottery is made. The pottery is glazed and then fired at a low temperature. The basic design incorporates animals or birds. Other colors such as yellow and brown are also used. Some of the pottery designs are semi-translucent and decorated with small pieces of mirror glass as well as with different colored glass powder.

After you have watched this process, your instructor will teach you how to make the pottery yourself. All the necessary materials will be provided to you and the pottery expert will guide you step by step.

Enjoy Indian Tea and snacks during your pottery class. At the end of the class, take your own blue pottery handicraft home as a souvenir. You will be brought back to your hotel in Jaipur.
