You will be met at the banks of Lake Pichola. From there you will take a boat to Jag Mandir Palace situated on an island in the lake. The boat ride on the placid waters of Lake Pichola with the setting sun in the backdrop is an experience not to be missed.

Lake Pichola is an artificial fresh water lake that was built in 1362. It is one of the many contiguous lakes that have been built in Udaipur over the years. From the lake you can get a panoramic view of the palaces and old mansions along the banks of the lake.

This is a three-story palace right in the middle of Lake Pichola. It was built in the 17th century and its construction was completed under the reign of three Maharanas. The Mughal Emperor Shahjahan took refuge here between 1623 and 1624, when as a Prince, he rebelled against his father, Emperor Jahangir.

The palace is made of marble and yellow sandstone and has an impressive entrance that is flanked by statues of four elephants. Today the palace has been converted into a hotel. Explore the halls of the palace before you take the boat ride back to the shore.
