On this walk, we will discover some of Hyderabad’s crumbling but magnificent past. We will visit the remnants of three homes of the Paigah noblemen, visit a beautiful Sufi Shrine tucked away in the bye-lanes of the Old City as well as the Badshahi Ashurkhana where you will hear the stories of the Battle of Karbala and how it impacts the divide in the community even today.
We will start the walk near the Charminar entrance and proceed towards Laad Bazaar. Here, you will be shown some of the older arched doorways and old shops that are still functioning. After a quick stop at Mahboob Chowk clock tower surrounded by its quaint antique shops, we will then proceed to the Paigah Lane. After a walk around the courtyards of the crumbling havelis, we will head to the other side of the old city where we will experience the peace at a beautiful Sufi Shrine where we will understand more about Sufism. The walk will end at Badshahi Ashurkhana.
