Start this private food adventure with a convenient pick up from your Ubud hotel at 9am. If you are not staying in Ubud, make your own way and meet your host at a designated resort near his house. Near your host’s home, discover exotic Balinese fruits, herbs and spices such as galangal, cloves, cacao and nutmeg and learn about their medicinal properties. Then, walk 10 minutes to your host’s home for a tour of the family compound before joining his wife Jero to cook authentic, home-cooked Balinese dishes using a traditional wood-fired oven. Please note that you will be hosted by Dewa or an equally wonderful family member who will host you along with Dewa’s wife Jero. This is not a professional cooking class, rather this experience is a visit to an authentic, local home to meet a local family who are expert cooks and share Balinese culture and cuisine together.
