MARBA was extracted from the name Marta Badjunet, a rich merchant from Yemen who ran an expedition business during that period.- A street market sells a few modestly priced antiques and memorabilia- Gereja Blenduk, The unusual copper-domed Blenduk is one of Indonesia’s most historic churches, built in 1753 and still welcoming worshippers for regular Sunday services.- Semarang Contemporary Art Gallery, housed in the former “De Indische Llyod” building of 1937. The main exhibition space covers two floors with a square central atrium. The stark white walls showcase the artworks while a small courtyard garden displays sculptural works.
