Kuta Trip Overview
Iconic Lempuyang is among Bali’s biggest and greatest temples. They call it the Gates of Heaven because of it’s spectacular views high atop the hills in northeastern Bali.
From there, we’ll head over to Tirta Gangga with its beautiful sculptures, pools and meticulously manicured grounds. It’s a peaceful temple and by the time we get there it will likely be quite hot. Not a problem. Take a swim in one of the refreshing pools and cool down in the natural spring water. We can eat lunch here or elsewhere on the way to our next location.
If you missed swimming at Tirta Gangga you’ll get another chance at Takud Cepung waterfall. It’s a cave-like waterfall with a cool pool you can swim in while taking advantage of more excellent photo opportunities.
Also on the agenda is great jungle scenery and a photo stop at Tegalalang rice terrace. Before heading back to your hotel, we’ll stop at a Luwak coffee plantation where you can taste and purchase some the rarest coffee and tea in the world.

One of the oldest and most important temples in Bali, Lempuyang is alternatively named, the Gates of Heaven due to its spectacular views and heavenly gates that seem to reach for the sky. In addition to its great stairs, majestic views and “must-take” photo opportunities, Its chic architecture and depiction of the rich Balinese culture and heritage are just a few of the features that make this a highlight for any Bali tour. The temple sits at the peak of Mount Lempuyang in northeast Bali, thus giving visitors a breathtaking view of the region’s beauty.

Definitely a guest favorite, not just for its beauty, but it’s clear clear pools of water and fountains, enticing hot and sweaty tourists for a swim. Indeed, you may want to enjoy a cool break from the hot sun here. Tirta Gangga is a former royal water palace located in Ababi village in Ababi, Karangasem. The grounds are beautifully manicured and offer something quite different from the other temples and palaces you’ve visited in Bali. Built in 1948, it was used by the Karangasem Royal family. With swimming pools and playful architecture, even the kids will enjoy this one.

Not far from the road, but in a typical Bali setting is the cave-like waterfall of Tukad Cepung. It’s beauty and cool swim make it a popular visit among travelers. Take a swim or just sit and enjoy the refreshing air and surrounding jungle. It’s not the only waterfall in Bali, by any means, but it certainly ranks as one of the most spectacular

You can’t visit Bali without stopping at one of its many coffee plantations. Luwak Coffee, interestingly enhanced by the Luwak, a cat-like animal that, well, has a unique way of making the coffee taste so good. It’s one of the rarest and most expensive coffees in the world. You can try it, as well as rare teas and other coffee blends, here. We’ll let the plantation give you the unbelievable history of how Kopi Luwak originally began and is still made.
