Stop At: Panglong Tourism Village, Bintan Regency, Riau Islands Province 29152 Indonesia

Embark on an adventure to discover the hidden gems along Bintan Island’s pristine eastern coastline. The first stop brings you to Panglong Village, Berakit, the largest Orang Laut (Sea Gypsies) village of the island. Spot interesting sights such as hand-made fishing tools and displays of ‘sun tanning’ kerupuk (prawn/fish flavored crackers) or small fish as you stroll through the labyrinth of stilt houses. Play a game of tag with the curious and jovial local kids before you head further down south. For the next location, stop by Grotto Santa Maria and follow the beautiful trail of the Stations of the Cross to an idyllic chapel.

Your tour then presents you with breathtaking views of the Trikora Coast lined with kelongs (floating fishing platforms), wooden huts and traditional boat builders. Lunch is served at the popular Pizza Casa Italia, run by an italian family, where crispy thin wood-fired pizzas are sure to leave plates empty in seconds. Before concluding the tour, make your way to Kawal for some flavourful barbequed Otak Otak, the perfect after-lunch snack.
