It is home to gibbons, monkey, birds and 40 natural springs that flow through various parts of this forest. Nyet Aiq, the most accesible river, flows from Mount Rinjani, it is considered sacred by the Sasak people.

Ramble through the village’s lanes and see up and close as women are weaving ‘ketak’ type of fern that naturally grows in the forest. They produce export quality handicraft of bags, baskets and plates. Visit the old traditional buildings of soil or plaited-bamboo wall and thatched roof.
