Private Renaissance Walking Tour of Naples

Napoli Trip Overview

The tour of the Renaissance begins from the magnificent Triumphal Arch of Castel Nuovo: the entrance was commissioned by Alfonso of Aragon in the mid-1400s in memory of his entry into the city and the victory over French rule over Naples. The tour will continue to the area south of Spaccanapoli with a stop in Santa Maria la Nova where supposed to be buried the Count Dracula, the Renaissance Loggia of San Giovanni Maggiore and the magnificent Church of Sant’Anna dei Lombardi are thought to have been buried with a gem: the sacristy completely painted by an unpublished Vasari.
Another important stop is the facade of the church of Gesù Nuovo with the inscriptions of the guilds of the Piperno masters, but our journey will end, after having crossed the whole of “Spaccanapoli” and Piazza San Domenico Maggiore where we can taste a great “Sfogliatella” or we could have a caffè, in the delightful church of S. Angelo in Nilo where on the altar there is a wonderful work by the master Donatello.
