Beyond the clichés, the presence in the city of a great series of “magical” and profane rituals with which the Neapolitans chase away negative influences is undoubted. In this experience, through a short guided tour that will flow into a place in the center of Naples, you will get to know the world of Neapolitan superstition. A connoisseur of popular culture, also through stories and anecdotes, songs and nursery rhymes, will illustrate the ambiguous relationship that exists between the sacred and the profane in the Neapolitan capital.
We will leave from Piazza San Gaetano, to visit the most important places linked to the local superstition. We will discover the origin of some typical “amulets”, the relationship of the Neapolitans with death, the history and importance of the lottery game, the cunto of the pezzentelle souls and the history of the newsstands, and then converge in the final place, where you you will immerse yourself in the world of superstition like true Neapolitans.
