Santa Maria del Popolo church stands close to the northern gate of Piazza del Popolo. Here in the small chapels you can admire 2 of Caravaggio’s magnificent paintings as well as those of other great artists.

PIazza del Popolo meaning People’s Square is located at the beginning of via Flaminia and was once the entrance to the city from north during the Roman Empire. Here you can visit the Santa Maria del Popolo church and admire the obelisk statue in the centre of the square.

Stop At: Church of St. Louis of the French, Piazza San Luigi de’ Francesi, 00186 Rome Italy
The Church of St Louis of the French is located between the Pantheon and Piazza Navona. Although the exterior may seem simple, the interior is home to a trio of Caravaggio masterpieces located in the Contarelli Chapel.

The Basilica of Sant’Agostino is a Roman church located close to Piazza Navona. One of Caravaggio’s early Baroque pieces of art is on display in the Cavalletti Chapel called ‘Madonna of Loreto’. Other great works by masters like Raphael can be seen too.
