Roma Trip Overview

The Tour starts from the Capitol square restructured by Michelangelo in16C. Overlooking Rome, in its centre is the second century BC bronze Statue to Marcus Aurelius. Its original can be seen in the Capitoline Museums as your guide will explain.

Descending towards the Roman Forum you will pass the Lapidarium, Roman tax office and later a prison. Crossing Via dei Fori Imperiali you will visit the Trajan Markets and Column. This is one of the most impressive sights of a Forum, the last Forum built around 110AD by Emperor Trajan, finished by Emperor Hadrian to glorify Trajan – the greatest leader of the Roman Army. Carved around the Great Column are the victories of Trajan.

Enter then the Roman Forum, its arches, streets and buildings proceeding to the Palatine. You will visit the House of Livia or the one of her husband Emperor Augustus. Booked especially the house will be illustrated for half an hour by Forum’s Guides.

Pass By: Piazza del Campidoglio, Rome Italy

The Centre of Rome where was the old Capitol, still now The Capitol of Rome.
Your Tour of Ancient Rome begins here and your guide will be waiting for you holding a note with your name.
She will start by describing Emperor Marcus Aurelius famous equestrian Sculpture and will then describe the Capitoline Museums.
Into the courtyard are parts of the gigantic statue of Emperor Constantine. now dismembered. She will explain the layout and tell you about it.

Stop At: Colle Capitolino, Piazza del Campidoglio, Rome Italy

Your Tour of Ancient Rome begins on the Capitol Hill by the Equestrian statue of Emperor Marcus Aurelius which will be discussed by your guide. From here you will also see the Capitoline Museums also described .
In the courtyard is the huge dismembered statue of Emperor Costantine. Your guide will describe it togrter with the layout of the Museums.

We now begin the discovery of the Roman Forum, its Senate House, Triumphal Arches and the Imperial Palace starting from Caligula – as mad as a hatter – who built the triumphal Stairs particularly shallow to be used by his horse “Incitatus” which he made into a Senator, Rome’s Temples and churches where the stories of Rome’s triumphs and defeats will unfold in front of your eyes narrated by your guide,
She will also book a visit to one of the Houses of Emperor Augustus or his wife Livia presented by internal experts of the Forum.

Below are the ruins of The 6th century BC temple of Jupiter, the first and grandest Roman Temple on the Capitol and finally The Tabularium. From here it is possible to have a wonderful view over the Colonna Traiana which your private tour guide will describe in detail.
We are now in the Forum of Trajan, one of the most amazing Forums in Rome. Based just opposite the Forum of Augustus. This Forum was built around 110 by Emperor Trajan and finished by Emperor Hadrian for commemorating Trajan’s Glory.

The Forum Trajan here in Rome is one of the most amazing Forum in Rome. Based just opposite the Forum of Augustus it was built around 110 by Emperor Trajan and finished by Emperor Hadrian for commemorating Trajan’s glory. The 60metres Column is carved all round with the successful battles of Emperor Trajan – a great warrior who expanded the Roman Empire to its maximum limits. It contained the famous markets set under Trajan’s palace and grandiose square but, if finished, it would have contained two libraries one for the Greek and one for the Roman Books as your guide will explain.
