Of course there are a few suggestion we can give you about how to spend your time (around 5 hours included lunch, trust me isn’ t too much) in Orvieto and the choice can be done among a few activities. Ancient Orvieto its a walking city but nonetheless has a lot to offer.
Being on a tufa hill and having being founded by the Etruscans, we’ll go up and on the windy road we will meet an ancient etruscan “necropoli”.
After a stunning landscape the St. Patrick’s well, unique work of engineering it’ s somenthing that ask you the capacity to go up and down and do 500 steps. You can also go as down as you can/want to admire it.

A symbol of the city itself, the Duomo is one of the most beautiful in Italy. The Duomo is a magnificent building that brings together different architectural styles. In particular we can define a fine example and balance of Gothic and Romanesque styles. The intent was to create one large cathedral for the city, to replace two decaying churches that existed there before.

Discover this charming medieval town by walking along its alleyways, breathing the air of this jewell, rich of art, history. Give you time to know the local craftmanship, too. There are a lot of good quality shops here that will surely tempt you. And if you like wine, give you some time to taste the Orvieto one in a winery or in one of the local “Trattoria” we can recommend you.

A guided tour of the underground of Orvieto is an exciting experience to get to know the city from its heart retracing the history and daily life of past ages. The path runs through the heart of cavities where there are visible traces of  Etruscan and medieval antiquities.
