With this experience we will reach the spectacular Carrara marble quarries, to enjoy a panorama that sweeps from the sea to the majestic Apuan Alps, and we will get to know the white gold of Carrara, the most precious marble in the world, used since ancient times to build buildings and create works of art.
We arrive at the quarries aboard a Mercedes Van, while for the visit we get on a 4×4 car, suitable for reaching the marble basins of Fantiscritti and Colonnata. By car, follow the route along the former Marble Railway and inside suggestive tunnels dug into the rock, up to the quarries that date back to the Roman Empire, explained by a guide.
In the characteristic village of Colonnata follows the tasting of the other white gold, the famous lard, aged in special marble containers.
Go back along the ancient Via Carriona and the historic center of Carrara with its ancient seventeenth-century square Piazza Alberica.
