Itinerary
Day 1: Bari and Matera at sunset
Stop At: Matera, Matera, Province of Matera, Basilicata
Travel to Puglia, Italy. Arrival in Bari. The driver will pick you up at your arrival point in Bari (train station, airport or another point you wish to meet in the city) to transfer you to Matera, the city of Sassi. Hotel check-in and tour of Matera.
You will visit the city of stones at sunset in the company of an expert Puglia guide. Matera is considered one of the most evocative places in Southern Italy. It was declared a UNESCO site in 1993 and the European Capital of Culture in 2019. The visit with an authorized local guide will take you to discover the history of a city carved into the rock, where residents still lived until the mid-20th century.
The itinerary includes a visit to a cave house and an ancient church. A truly unique and picturesque experience.

After breakfast, you will reach Trani, the Pearl of the Adriatic, where you will visit the majestic cathedral on the sea and stroll through the alleys of the Jewish quarter while admiring the blue of the sea that seems to merge with the blue sky.

Stop At: Parc national de l’Alta Murgia, Via Firenze 10, 70024 Gravina in Puglia Italy
For lunch, you will head to a typical farmhouse located in the heart of the Alta Murgia Park for a light meal and have a relaxed afternoon surrounded by nature.
Then you will head towards Castel del Monte, one of the most mysterious and fascinating castles in Southern Italy designed by Frederick II of Swabia.
A professional tour guide will recount the history of the monument, a UNESCO site since 1996, following the various interpretations regarding its role and function. The stories will be filled with anecdotes about the Emperor’s life, defined as “Stupor Mundi”. You will return to Matera in the afternoon to spend the evening at leisure.

Day 3: ALBEROBELLO
Stop At: Alberobello, Alberobello, Province of Bari, Puglia
Breakfast. Then meet up with your driver and your Puglia travel guide who will take you by minivan to Alberobello, a must-visit destination on your journey between Puglia and Basilicata. In fact, Alberobello, a UNESCO site since 1996, has a fairytale charm like no other place, thanks to its concentration of trulli, an important example of rural architecture that still endures to this day.
Your local guide will also show you the panoramic view of Rione Aia Piccola with its endless expanse of conical roofs. Transfer to Bari for departure.
