Pass By: Porto Cesareo, Porto Cesareo, Province of Lecce, Puglia

The catamaran mini-cruise starts from the Porto Cesareo slipway, from which the boat of A Mare Salento sets sail: the first island of the boat tour stands out for its thick pine and acacia vegetation and is called Isola Grande, better known as Isola dei Conigli, as it was the home of hundreds of wild rabbits in the past and is now undergoing restocking. Once circumnavigated, we proceed north, going up the Gulf of Taranto, along the beautiful Ionian coast, full of natural coves drawn by the sea over the centuries and of white beaches from which beautiful golden dunes stand out.

Stop At: Torre Chianca, Torre Chianca, Province of Lecce, Puglia

The Torre della Chianca, in front of which a small island emerges, dates back to 1570 and is lapped by a natural inlet, an ancient Roman port. On the sandy seabed at a depth of about 3 meters, you can see impressive columns lost by a Roman ship sunk during an incorrect docking maneuver. Here we will make the first swim stop where it will be possible to snorkel and observe the cipollino marble columns more closely. Then we will skirt the Malva Island, located in front of the Torre della Chianca, at the Bacino Grande (artificial basin used for the reproduction of mullet and sea bass).

Stop At: Torre Lapillo, Torre Lapillo, Porto Cesareo, Province of Lecce, Puglia

Our journey continues north in the direction of Torre Lapillo, an opportunity to coast the most beautiful beaches of Salento, up to the foot of the Torre di Lapillo, where we will make a further swim stop and for those who want, it will be possible to practice snorkeling in the waters springs springing from the base rocks of the reef, which create an enchanting play of color and a splendid underwater landscape in the water. The location is also the site where you can dive to see on the seabed the statue of the Madonna dei Naviganti dedicated to the victims of the sea, the Costa Concordia and migrants.

Stop At: Porto Cesareo, Porto Cesareo, Province of Lecce, Puglia

The last stage includes a swim stop at the Malva Island, whose shallow waters allow even the youngest to swim. The island is totally wild and distinguishes two different coasts: the coast exposed to the beaches, which is also sandy, is easily accessible from the opposite coast; the coast that turns to the open sea, however, is jagged by a low cliff, usually populated by seagulls especially as a night refuge. During the break, the staff of A Mare Salento will prepare an aperitif based on typical local products, wines from native vines and various and unlimited drinks.
